SaskEnergy Catch for KidSport™ Program manages to tackle a new milestone

The SaskEnergy Catch for KidSport™ Program has proved its importance to the kids of Saskatchewan, once again. On January 31, 2006, SaskEnergy Catch for KidSport™ ambassador and Saskatchewan Roughrider, Paul McCallum, presented KidSport™ Volunteer Chair, Don McDougall, with a cheque in the amount of $28,839.

Throughout the Roughriders 2005 CFL Season, SaskEnergy donated $25 per Roughrider field goal, $25 per offensive pass completion and $100 per touchdown to KidSport™ Saskatchewan — a charity that helps children from families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sports programs.

The Catch for KidSport™ program managed to reach a new milestone this year with the eight year total reaching almost $225,000. To date, over 3,100 underprivileged kids have accessed the fund.

"SaskEnergy is extremely proud to be associated with an organization such as KidSport™ that is dedicated to giving the children of Saskatchewan opportunities that they may not otherwise have," says Leslie Gosselin, Manager of Advertising and Community Relations for SaskEnergy. "The kids learn many valuable lessons from being able to participate in their favorite sports. They learn teamwork, discipline, the significance of living an active and healthy lifestyle, and most importantly how to set goals and dream big."

KidSport™ Saskatchewan has 41committees across the province that help an average of 3,400 children per year participate in over 60 different sports from archery to wrestling.

"On behalf of KidSport™ and all of the kids that have benefited from the Catch for KidSport ™ program, I would like to thank SaskEnergy for their continued support and dedication to ensuring that Saskatchewan kids have the opportunity to grow and succeed," says KidSport™ Volunteer Chair, Don McDougall. "This new milestone proves that they are making a difference to the thousands of children that use our program each and every year."

Donations to the program can be made by calling 1-800-319-GAME or by visiting the SaskEnergy Catch for KidSport™ website at http://catchforkidsport.saskenergy.com/. Donations can also be mailed to the SaskEnergy Catch for KidSport™ Program, c/o KidSport™ Saskatchewan, 1870 Lorne Street, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 2L7.
