4th Annual I Love Regina Day Free Skating Party and
KŌNA-FEST Mascot Debut
Mayor Pat Fiacco encouraged residents to celebrate the
4th Annual I Love Regina Day with him on February 11, 2006.
The public was invited to attend a free Skating Party at
the Mount Pleasant Sports Park Speed Skating Oval, from 12:00 p.m. to
2:00 p.m. There was music, hot chocolate, goodies and prizes.
KŌNA-FEST, presented by SaskEnergy, also debuted its new
mascots, Tansi and Ravi.
Tansi and Ravi loved Regina so much, and had such a
great time at the 2005 Jeux du Canada Summer Games that they decided to
stay here for the winter. They are very excited to help Regina residents
celebrate I Love Regina Day, and help kick off the first KŌNA-FEST Main
They were dressed a bit differently than they were for
the Canada Summer Games. They were decked out in their "winter woollies"
so they can enjoy all the KŌNA-FEST events. Be sure to watch for Tansi
and Ravi and say hello - they especially love hugs and hi-fives!
In the evening of February 11th, the Regina Pats played
the Prince Albert Raiders at 7:00 p.m. at the Brandt Centre and
residents were encouraged to wear their I Love Regina gear to the game.
Everyone attending was eligible for a weekend getaway in Regina and
The I Love Regina campaign is community driven,
supported by I Love Regina merchandise sales, Tourism Regina, Regina
Downtown and the local business community.
