Roughriders Commemorative
1966 Grey Cup Charity Calendar Launched

What is destined to be a collectors' item for die-hard fans of the Green and White was launched today with the first-ever Saskatchewan Roughriders 2006-07 Commemorative '66 Grey Cup Charity Calendar going on sale.

This limited edition calendar features a special 40th anniversary tribute to legendary Roughriders Ron Lancaster, George Reed and the other members of the 1966 Grey Cup winning team. The calendar, available at the Rider Store and on-line through Riderville.com is SaskEnergy's latest fundraiser for KidSport™ Saskatchewan.

"While continuing the tradition of raising funds for KidSport™, this first-ever calendar of its kind also honours Saskatchewan's fine football tradition," said Doug Kelln, President and CEO, SaskEnergy. "This calendar will bring back memories for anyone who has followed the team over the years and helps tell the proud story of Saskatchewan's team."

All proceeds from the Saskatchewan Roughriders Commemorative 2007 Charity Calendar will go to KidSport™, as well as amateur football in the province.

Only 1000 of these calendars will be offered for sale. SaskEnergy, KidSport™ Saskatchewan, Football Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Roughriders will be releasing a new 2007 Saskatchewan Roughrider calendar this fall for those who miss out on this special commemorative edition.

"KidSport™ provides financial assistance to help kids overcome the social and economic barriers preventing or limiting their participation in community sport programs" said Don McDougall, Chair of KidSport™ Saskatchewan. "Through sport, children learn life-long skills such as teamwork, goal setting and confidence. However, without the assistance of corporate sponsors, such as SaskEnergy and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the generous support of the people of Saskatchewan, KidSport™ would not be able to ensure that all kids can play!."

Since 1998, SaskEnergy has teamed up with the Roughriders to raise almost $225,000 for KidSport™ Saskatchewan and help more than 3,100 less fortunate kids participate in community sports programs across the province.
