The ENERGY STAR® Loan Event

The ENERGY STAR Loan Program is back! The program offers prime rate loans on ENERGY STAR qualified furnaces with a high efficiency variable speed motor and ENERGY STAR qualified boilers with an annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) rating of 90% or higher.

We encourage customers to make the most energy efficient choice available to help them use less energy and save on their heating and electrical costs. This program offers financing, OAC, at prime rate from August 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009 through participating SaskEnergy Network Members.

ENERGY STAR Loan Program details*:

Furnaces must have annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) rating
       of 90% or higher with a high efficiency variable speed motor.
Boilers must be ENERGY STAR and have an annual fuel utilization
       efficiency (AFUE) rating of 90% or higher.
This offer applies to residential equipment installed in customer's
       residence only.
Purchase and install any other natural gas appliance(s) at the
       same time and finance the additional natural gas appliance(s)
       at prime also.
Loans offered through SaskEnergy Network Members on approved
       credit.
Maximum loan per customer is $10,000.
Maximum term is 5 years.
Offer ends March 31, 2009. Some restrictions apply.
Air conditioners do not qualify for prime rate financing.
Current prime rate is 4.00%.
Standard loan rates apply to equipment outside of the special offer
       guidelines.

What is an ENERGY STAR qualified furnace?

An ENERGY STAR natural gas furnace has an annual fuel utilization efficiency or AFUE rating of 90% or higher. Customers should talk to their participating SaskEnergy Network Member regarding qualifying models.

What is a high efficiency variable speed motor?

“Variable speed” refers to the furnace’s indoor blower motor, which runs at different speeds to precisely control the flow of heated and cooled air throughout your home.

• Greater comfort – Better regulates the flow of air throughout your home.

• Cleaner air – When the fan operates constantly, the motor will continue to slowly circulate air, allowing filters to capture more contaminants.

What is an ENERGY STAR qualified boiler?

ENERGY STAR qualifying boilers that have an AFUE rating of 90% or higher qualify under the ENERGY STAR Loan Program. Customers should talk to their SaskEnergy Network Member regarding qualifying models.
