Consulting - Distribution

SaskEnergy International's areas of technical and operational distribution consulting services:

Market Analysis - We can assess industrial, commercial and residential load requirements.

Distribution Engineering - We can design distribution networks based on hydraulic analysis and pipeline Code & Design, verify Conceptual Design, assess the Design Criteria and implement Capital/Facilities strategies.

Environmental Review - We can review the host country's environmental regulations and ensure requirements are met for urban heritage and archaeological sites, material waste management, spill containment and emergency response.

We can also minimize rural disturbance of natural vegetation and wildlife including endangered species. We can evaluate construction options related to ploughing versus trenching pipe and boring waterways versus damming, using our corporate environmental construction manual for river crossings.

Detailed Design - We can identify water, telephone, electricity, rail and other facilities, review geotechnical considerations such as fault lines, soil erosion and management, perform risk analysis, and address construction considerations like hours of work, rates, productivity, permits and access to streets.

Cost of Service, Regulation and Tariff - We can develop a cost of service model, including allocation factors. We can also establish a depreciation analysis, identify operations, maintenance and administration costs, and determine revenue requirements.

We can set a return on rate base, customer contributions and oriented costs. As well, we can assist in developing appropriate toll and tariff design and facilitating regulatory approvals.

Construction - We can specify and procure materials based on Standard Practice Manuals. We can also provide construction manuals for operators, foremen, inspectors and trainers, and review host country construction and safety regulations.

Customer Services - We can provide administrative expertise through our customer service information system (CSIS), metering, billing, collection, meter change and 25 month client history.

We have a comprehensive meter reading and management program, a customer service representative and collection system, a nationally accredited meter verification facility for testing repairs and calibration, as well as the ability to develop financing and service contracts.

Maintenance - We can develop an odorization system, establish leak surveys and repair schedules, develop cathodic protection and planned maintenance programs, and identify encroachments.

Training - We can train customer service representatives and maintenance and service technicians, as well as and provide marketing and product training through modules.
