Vice President Leaves SaskEnergy To Enter New Oil Exploration Business

Ken From, Senior Vice President, Gas Supply and Business Development, SaskEnergy, today announced that he is pursuing a new opportunity as a founding partner of a new Saskatchewan-based oil exploration company, Prairie Hunter Exploration. He will leave his SaskEnergy role effective August 31, 2007.

“It is very difficult to leave SaskEnergy because I have enjoyed my work, the people and the intricacies of the gas-buying business,” he said. “However, this is a chance for me to use my entrepreneurial skills in a new and exciting direction right here at home.”

SaskEnergy President Doug Kelln recognized From’s outstanding service since he joined the organization more than 25 years ago.

“Ken has made lasting and significant contributions to our Province, our company and natural gas customers across Saskatchewan,” said Doug Kelln. “Today, our customers receive the benefits of a natural gas hedging program that has traditionally delivered some of the lowest natural gas rates in Canada – I want to say that is the direct result of Ken’s leadership, understanding and unique insights into the natural gas market over many, many years.

“Ken was an outstanding communicator, a strategic thinker and a valued colleague of mine for many years,” said Kelln. “His presence and his counsel will be deeply missed in our company. At the same time, we know he will be very successful in his future endeavors.”

From said the opportunity and potential of the Province’s energy industry had led to his decision.

“It’s a great time to do business here. Our business climate is positive and our industry is dynamic. That’s why we will be focusing on Saskatchewan properties, and we are very excited to begin moving forward.”

He indicated the company would immediately begin to finalize its capital structure in support of its drilling program. Ken’s agreement to continue with SaskEnergy until August 31 will allow the organization some time to plan for the transition of his responsibilities.
