Community BBQ Program
SaskEnergy’s Community BBQ Program is available to a charity or community initiative that fits our community investment guidelines, or is used to support corporate community or customer initiatives. Weather permitting, and subject to equipment and technician availability, the program runs from May 1st to September 30th each year with five transportable BBQ’s available throughout the province.
SaskEnergy may provide up to $500.00 reimbursement for food (hotdogs/pre-cooked hamburgers only), hotdog/hamburger buns, condiments (ketchup, relish, mustard only) and drinks (pop/juice/water only) – with receipts.
Weather permitting, and subject to availability of the technical staff required to operate the equipment, the program runs from May 1st to September 30th each year. Rare exceptions outside of this timeframe may be considered dependent on the nature of the request and the availability of equipment and technical staff.
Due to the high pressure natural gas delivery system used to run the BBQ, a qualified SaskEnergy/TransGas technician must be in attendance to set up and take down the equipment as well as be on site in the event of an emergency.
Please note: The BBQ (cascade) trailers also provide an emergency response function for operating units in all areas of the province. For this reason, if the trailer is required for an emergency situation, your BBQ could be cancelled without notice. We urge all organizations to have a back-up plan in place.
Unfortunately, we are unable to assist for-profit organizations hosting an event, even if the BBQ is to support a charity or not-for-profit.
