Conservation Learning Centre
Destination Conservation Saskatchewan (DCS) is an environmental education
program that focuses on energy and water conservation and waste reduction.
Through a series of workshops over a three-year period, student teams develop
the skills to:
- Evaluate or audit how their school is using energy, consuming water and producing waste.
- Run lifestyle campaigns to reduce energy and water use and waste production in their school.
DCS is owned and operated by the Saskatchewan Environmental Society (SES). It has been operating province wide since 1993, and has worked with over 200 schools in over 20 school divisions.
For the 2012-13 school year, DCS is offering a pilot providing individual schools the Year 1 Technology and Lifestyle Workshops, or professional development for teachers.
