As the first corporate partner to promote this initiative in Saskatchewan, SaskEnergy is offering the following exciting awards to kick start participation across the province:

  • 5 Share the Warmth Community Spirit Awards

SaskEnergy will supply a celebration BBQ event to each of the winning youth community service projects in the province.

  • 10 SaskEnergy Youth Enviro-Action Awards

A special emphasis on environmental stewardship will reward 10 Saskatchewan project entries with $500 grants to youth making a difference for the environment in their community.

Recipients for both the SaskEnergy Share the Warmth Community Spirit Awards and the SaskEnergy Youth Enviro-Action Awards will be announced April 16, 2004.

Global Youth Service Day is the largest youth-led volunteering event in the world with over 150 countries and 34 international organizations taking part. Nearly half of the people in Saskatchewan get involved in community initiatives every year, the highest level of participation of any province.

SaskEnergy is facilitating a mailing with information and application details which will be going to all schools in the province. Youth representing service organizations are also eligible to apply.
