SaskEnergy program offering free furnace tune-ups is back for another year

It is summertime in Saskatchewan, however, people in this province know winter is never far away. That is why SaskEnergy is helping customers make sure their furnaces are running smoothly. Starting this week, SaskEnergy is teaming up with Network Members to offer the Tune-Up Assistance Program (TAP). Income-qualifying homeowners looking to prepare before the snowflakes start to fly can apply to receive a free Home Heating Tune-Up. “Saskatchewan residents can once again apply for free furnace tune-ups, repairs and carbon monoxide alarms, keeping their homes safe and ready for winter,” said Don...

Buyer beware of door-to-door heating and cooling equipment sales

Saskatchewan plumbing and heating specialists are encouraging homeowners to do their homework and take steps to protect themselves before investing in new heating and cooling equipment. In light of recent complaints, the Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan (MCAS), Natural Gas Appliance and Equipment Association (NGAEDA), and SaskEnergy Network Members are reminding Saskatchewan residents to properly research door-to-door salespeople and out-of-province companies offering equipment sales. Several local businesses and organizations have received reports of high-pressure sales...

Canadian Natural Gas Utility Workers' Day

Each year, October 10 marks Canadian Natural Gas Utility Workers' Day. Today, SaskEnergy joins the Canadian Gas Association and natural gas utilities across the country in recognizing the work done by its employees to keep natural gas flowing to heat homes, run businesses and fuel industries. “As a company, our greatest strength is our people,” said Mark Guillet, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Today is our chance to recognize the expertise and care our employees demonstrate in delivering safe, reliable, and accessible energy to our customers every single day. Catching more (Ar)rays with additional solar power installations

In early 2023, SaskEnergy’s first net-metering solar installation at Town Border Station (TBS) 1 in southwest Regina began generating electricity from the 176 solar panels installed on site. Fast forward to today, and we now have eight sites with large-scale solar arrays capable of generating power! These installations are a vital part of our Roadmap to 35 Per Cent by 2030, which includes integrating more renewable energy into our operations. “As part of our Roadmap we're focused on reducing both our direct emissions from our operations and our indirect emissions related to electricity...

Hundreds of volunteers stepped up to support more than 1,500 young athletes who competed in the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games, which were held in Flying Dust First Nation and the City of Meadow Lake from February 15–21. These volunteers played many important roles, including helping with logistics, competitions, ceremonies, and hospitality. Their hard work ensured a positive experience for athletes, families, and spectators. Their dedication reflected both the spirit of the Games and the spirit of Saskatchewan. Construction meets conservation: bird-friendly expansion at Prud’homme

For years, SaskEnergy's Prud’homme Compressor Station has been more than a hub for energy — it’s been a hidden sanctuary for nesting birds. “We've been managing nesting birds at the station for more than 10 years. There are several wetlands near the facility and the area provides excellent nesting habitat for migratory bird species,” says Ashley Syrgiannis, SaskEnergy's Manager of Environmental Assessment. “So, before our Prud’homme Expansion Project began, we approached our Operations team to see if they would be interested in some habitat enhancements.” As part of the Prud’homme Expansion...

Expanding our system to support a growing Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan’s continued growth is creating new demand for reliable energy — and we are expanding our system to keep pace! In 2025, we broke ground on a series of complex system expansion projects east of Saskatoon. This included two new high-pressure gas lines and an expanded facility at our Prud’homme compressor station. The first phase — a 40-kilometre gas line from Patience Lake to Prud'homme — was completed last fall, and work on the second phase is now underway. As part of phase two, SaskEnergy will install a new meter station and an 80-kilometre gas line to support customer growth in...
