SaskEnergy Supports Understanding and Respect Through Fireside with Lyndon
The Fireside with Lyndon conversation series is about sharing stories that build understanding, like the opening event for the 2026 season where Inuk actor, filmmaker and cultural advocate Lucy Tulugarjuk joined host Lyndon J. Linklater to explore how language and storytelling help keep culture strong.
These kinds of thoughtful, story based conversations are what define the Fireside with Lyndon series and keep audiences coming back.
“Supporting the Fireside with Lyndon series reflects SaskEnergy’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation,” says Joseph Daniels, Director of Indigenous Engagement at SaskEnergy. “By creating space for learning and open dialogue, these conversations help build understanding and stronger relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.”
This season marks SaskEnergy’s fourth year as a sponsor of the series, which is held at Remai Modern in Saskatoon. Each event brings people together in a warm and welcoming setting to listen, learn and reflect on Indigenous perspectives. Hosted by traditional knowledge keeper and storyteller Lyndon J. Linklater, the series creates space for open conversations on social, cultural and historical topics that invite curiosity, reflection and dialogue.
During the conversation with Lucy Tulugarjuk, guests heard powerful stories about the importance of language, storytelling and preserving culture.
“These conversations create a welcoming place for people to talk about complex topics,” says Derrick Mann, SaskEnergy’s Executive Vice President of Infrastructure Delivery and Reliability, who was on hand to share opening remarks. “They bring different perspectives together in a way that is engaging and easy to understand. That helps us learn more about one another and the communities we serve.”
SaskEnergy’s sponsorship supports the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action. By investing in programs that encourage learning and understanding, SaskEnergy aims to help build respectful, lasting relationships across the province.
“SaskEnergy is proud to be the presenting sponsor of Fireside with Lyndon because the series encourages people to listen and engage with Indigenous perspectives in a respectful,” says Allix Schweitzer, Supervisor of Community Engagement. “It’s about showing up, learning together and supporting more inclusive spaces across Saskatchewan.”
