On game day, the energy inside Mosaic Stadium doesn’t just come from the field — it comes from the people who welcome, guide and support fans from the moment they arrive. More than 200 Rider Squad volunteers play a key role in creating a fun, safe and welcoming experience at every Saskatchewan Roughriders home game.

SaskEnergy is proud to support these volunteers as the Champion of Volunteers and presenting sponsor of the Rider Squad fan ambassador team.

Rider Squad members take on many important roles during each game, providing attendees with a positive and seamless experience. They scan tickets, help fans find their seats, answer questions and support guest services throughout the stadium.

“Rider Squad volunteers are such a big part of creating the game-day experience that fans know and love,” says Allix Schweitzer, SaskEnergy's Supervisor of Community Engagement. “SaskEnergy is proud to support them as they give their time and energy at every home game to create a positive atmosphere at Mosaic Stadium.”

With SaskEnergy’s support, Rider Squad volunteers receive training, uniforms and ongoing recognition throughout the season. At each home game, one squad member is also honoured as the SaskEnergy Volunteer of the Game.

“SaskEnergy’s support of the Rider Squad is a natural fit and instrumental to our success,” says Rob Harrison, Volunteer and Guest Experience Manager with the Riders. “The elevation and awareness SaskEnergy provides for both volunteerism and community — demonstrated now by two Champion organizations — truly highlights how both teams are woven into the fabric of Saskatchewan.”

At its core, the Rider Squad shows how people coming together can make a big difference. Their time and effort help create the kind of game day experience that fans remember long after the final whistle.

“Volunteers are the heart of Saskatchewan spirit — and volunteerism is at the heart of who we are at SaskEnergy,” says Allix. “Working with the Riders to support the team behind the team is a meaningful way to give back to the volunteers that connect people across the province.”
