Canadian Natural Gas Utility Workers' Day

Each year, October 10 marks Canadian Natural Gas Utility Workers' Day. Today, SaskEnergy joins the Canadian Gas Association and natural gas utilities across the country in recognizing the work done by its employees to keep natural gas flowing to heat homes, run businesses and fuel industries.
“As a company, our greatest strength is our people,” said Mark Guillet, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Today is our chance to recognize the expertise and care our employees demonstrate in delivering safe, reliable, and accessible energy to our customers every single day. It’s because of their hard work and dedication to excellence that our customers can rely on our service, our communities can rely on our support, and we can rely on each other.”
For Construction Crew Lead Kevin Desnomie, the opportunity to help build a stronger company through relationships is one of his favourite parts of the job.
“My role gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge with new crew members and help them develop their own skills, which I find very rewarding,” says Kevin. “I also enjoy getting to meet the customers we serve. Everyone at SaskEnergy is working hard to safely deliver gas to our customers, and everything we do is ultimately for our customers. We’re proud of that.”
Jasdeep Saini in our Planning and Dispatch team couldn’t agree more.
“SaskEnergy is made up of people who truly care about the work they do. It’s rewarding to be part of a team that supports both public safety and the safety of our system,” she says.
As we head into cooler months and furnaces around the province begin to run, take a moment to appreciate the employees across Saskatchewan who keep the natural gas flowing safely and reliably year-round.
“Whether it's handling emergencies, maintaining infrastructure, or supporting customers, there's a strong sense of purpose and pride behind everything we do,” adds Jasdeep.
