In early 2023, SaskEnergy’s first net-metering solar installation at Town Border Station (TBS) 1 in southwest Regina began generating electricity from the 176 solar panels installed on site. A quarter century ago, our construction crews were a main attraction for children spending their summers at Kenosee Provincial Park. Saskatchewan’s continued growth is creating new demand for reliable energy — and we are expanding our system to keep pace! In 2025, we broke ground on a series of complex system expansion projects east of Saskatoon. This included two new high-pressure gas lines and an expanded facility at our Prud’homme compressor station. At the end of July, 12 co-op and summer students from SaskEnergy spent two days volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Regina. For Samarth Soni, a co-op student in our Enterprise Networks team, it was his first time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. The Goals for KidSport program wrapped up another season with more than $20,000 raised to help ease financial barriers for youth involved in sports. The program is a three-way partnership between SaskEnergy and its Network Members, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and KidSport. During the program’s nine years, more than $230,000 has been raised! The SJHL is the program's sponsored partner and brings Goals for KidSport to 11 communities across the province.
