Accessibility

Our Plan We’re working to make accessibility a natural part of everything we do — across our services, when accessing information, and in our spaces. SaskEnergy’s Accessibility Plan (2026-2028) was created in accordance with The Accessible Saskatchewan Act. The plan outlines our commitment to identifying, removing, and preventing barriers for customers, employees and the public. Our Website We have designed our website to follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. Several factors remain top of mind when creating content such as colour contrast ratios, type sizes, image text...

SaskEnergy sets another all-time natural gas usage record – the fourth in a week

Daily natural gas consumption in the province has set another new record of 1.50 PetaJoules (PJ) of natural gas. This record, set in the 24-hour period between 9:00 a.m. December 29 th and 9:00 a.m. December 30 th, breaks the previous record set on December 26 th, 2017. These records surpass the 1.33 PJ record from the winter of 2016/2017. The 1.50 PJ natural gas consumption record is due to the extreme cold temperatures, along with high natural gas consumption from customers, especially industrial customers and power plants. A PetaJoule is a unit of measurement equivalent to one million...

SaskEnergy sets new daily gas consumption record twice in one week

Daily natural gas consumption in the province has again surpassed the previous usage record. Daily gas consumption numbers are tracked over a 24-hour period from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. – a new record of 1.59 petajoules (PJ) was set today. The previous record of 1.57 PJ was set early this week on February 9 th. A petajoule is a unit of measurement equivalent to one million gigajoules (GJ) of natural gas – the average home in Saskatchewan consumes about 100 GJ of natural gas annually. This is the eighth winter in a row that the usage record has been matched or exceeded. Record-setting natural...

SaskEnergy, SaskPower Expand Commercial Space and Water Heating Rebate

SaskEnergy, in collaboration with SaskPower, is expanding its popular Commercial Space and Water Heating Rebate (CSWHR) to include the replacement of rooftop units (RTU) and variable speed electronically commutated motor (ECM) circulating pumps. Available to commercial customers since 2019, the CSWHR helps offset the cost of upgrading to high-efficiency equipment while reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. “The expansion of this program by SaskEnergy and SaskPower helps businesses and community organizations more efficiently heat and cool their buildings while also saving them...

Drones offer an eye in the sky

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a little of both?! It’s actually a drone equipped with a camera, and it has been providing SaskEnergy with several benefits over the last two summers. “Using a drone gives a bird’s eye view of our construction and reclamation work,” says Ashley Syrgiannis of our Environment & Sustainability team. “They are efficient from a time and cost perspective, and they allow us to make more informed environmental decisions.” Prior to a construction project, Ashley and her team use a drone to assist in environmental field surveys. “A drone can help get into areas that are...

Mini libraries bring big smiles to Saskatchewan schools

In late November, Grade 3 students at St. Catherine School in Regina received a surprise that will shape their learning for years to come — a new mini classroom library. The excitement was immediate as students eagerly explored the fresh collection of books, flipping through pages and sharing discoveries with friends. For Jeanna Kozan, a SaskEnergy employee who visited the school during the delivery, one moment in particular stood out. “One of the children we met was very quiet and shy at first,” Jeanna says. “But as soon as he found a book that interested him, he grabbed it, sat down, and...

Welcomed with Open Arms: Experiencing the Treaty Four Powwow

A beautiful late summer day in the Qu’Appelle Valley set the stage for a powerful and heartwarming experience as 25 SaskEnergy employees, families and friends attended the Treaty Four Powwow in Fort Qu-Appelle on Saturday, September 20. For many, it was their first time attending a powwow and what they found was a space filled with warmth, pride, and community. “What stood out the most to me was how open and welcoming the space felt, not just in a physical sense, but emotionally and spiritually,” says Bonnie Favreau, one of the employees that attended. “Being there helped me realize that it...
