Four new benches now offer visitors a place to sit and reflect at the Regina Indian Industrial School (RIIS) cemetery in west Regina. Approximately 38 children are buried in this cemetery, in unmarked graves. Today, the site serves as a place of remembrance. Families, survivors and community members visit and honour the children who never returned home. The RIIS Commemorative Association works to preserve the site’s history. Every day, the Saskatoon Friendship Inn welcomes people who need a hot meal, a safe place to go and a sense of community. As more people turn to the organization for help, volunteers play an important role in supporting its work. Recently, six SaskEnergy employees spent an afternoon volunteering at the Friendship Inn. In April 2025, SaskEnergy completed work on our eighth solar array installation, two years after the first large-scale solar power system was installed at one of our Town Border Stations in Regina.
