Hundreds of volunteers stepped up to support more than 1,500 young athletes who competed in the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games, which were held in Flying Dust First Nation and the City of Meadow Lake from February 15–21. Students didn’t just learn about safety at the Cade Sprackman Safety Day in Regina — they experienced it firsthand. On May 27, more than 200 students from Campus Regina Public took part in a full day of hands-on activities designed to prepare them for real-life risks at work and in their communities. Every year, the North Central Community Association organizes a clean-up to help get rid of garbage and large items in the inner-city neighbourhood before winter arrives. Colourful canoes and kayaks, all lined up and ready to race, filled the south side of Wascana Lake at the end of August for the 2025 Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships.
