Championing volunteers draws cheers from Rider Nation

Volunteering was cheered loudly and proudly by Rider Nation as the start of the CFL season kicked off at Mosaic Stadium. SaskEnergy was named the Game Day Partner for the Riders’ Home Opener on June 5 as we continue to celebrate our 25th anniversary as the Champion of Volunteers. Before and during the game, our team put the spotlight on the more than 200 volunteers who make up the Rider Squad, flooding them with appreciation for all their hard work and dedication. “SaskEnergy and the Saskatchewan Roughriders have a long history of working together to help create memorable occasions for Rider...

Variety of programs and services benefit SaskEnergy customers

Our First Nations Furnace Replacement Rebate program is just one of many ways SaskEnergy is helping our customers. This was one of several programs we introduced in 2023-24, which are highlighted in our annual report. Yellow Quill First Nation in east-central Saskatchewan is benefiting from this rebate program. New high-efficiency natural gas furnaces are being installed at more than 40 homes. This is helping residents reduce emissions and costs. “For years, the issue of furnaces needing replacement has been a concern for our community. Welcomed with open arms: experiencing the Treaty Four Powwow

A beautiful late summer day in the Qu’Appelle Valley set the stage for a powerful and heartwarming experience as 25 SaskEnergy employees, families and friends attended the Treaty Four Powwow in Fort Qu-Appelle on Saturday, September 20. For many, it was their first time attending a powwow and what they found was a space filled with warmth, pride, and community. “What stood out the most to me was how open and welcoming the space felt, not just in a physical sense, but emotionally and spiritually,” says Bonnie Favreau, one of the employees that attended. “Being there helped me realize that it...

Rekindling long-ago customer connection a career highlight for employee

A quarter century ago, our construction crews were a main attraction for children spending their summers at Kenosee Provincial Park. SaskEnergy employees worked for several summers to extend gas service to cabins in the area in the late 1990s. “Some kids, you couldn’t get rid of them. They’re pointing and looking; the parents want to go, but the kids want to stay and see us work,” says Dale Staudt, a Crew Lead with our southern Saskatchewan Construction team. “We would stop and explain what we were doing and show them. We’d stand back with the parent and watch one of our guys dig. For a small...

Expanding our system to support a growing Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan’s continued growth is creating new demand for reliable energy — and we are expanding our system to keep pace! In 2025, we broke ground on a series of complex system expansion projects east of Saskatoon. This included two new high-pressure gas lines and an expanded facility at our Prud’homme compressor station. The first phase — a 40-kilometre gas line from Patience Lake to Prud'homme — was completed last fall, and work on the second phase is now underway. As part of phase two, SaskEnergy will install a new meter station and an 80-kilometre gas line to support customer growth in...

Wrangling new volunteers for Canadian Western Agribition

SaskEnergy has been Saskatchewan's Champion of Volunteers for nearly 25 years. Now, we are saddling up with Canadian Western Agribition as volunteer sponsor for the 2024 event. This year’s Agribition, which takes place from November 25-30 in Regina, will need the help of more than 350 volunteers. Roles include student safety, information booths, driving, hospitality and more. Thanks to SaskEnergy’s support, new volunteers who sign up will be entered to win a SaskEnergy gift basket, including two concert tickets and a meet-and-greet with country singer Randall King! For anyone interested in...
