Employees from SaskEnergy’s Swift Current office have once again stepped up to help families in need in their community. For more than a decade, they have been carrying on a tradition of supporting the local Salvation Army food bank. “It’s a team effort for a great cause,” says Mike Rossiter, General Manager of Operations in the Southwest Area. “In the fall, we put a call out to our Operations and Customer Service team members, and they come through every year.” In addition to employee donations, SaskEnergy provided a $200 grant to purchase items for the food bank. SaskEnergy is helping community groups “Share the Warmth” this winter

One of SaskEnergy’s flagship community programs—Share the Warmth—is back to support Saskatchewan people in need this winter. The program offers cash grants of up to $1,000 for grassroots community initiatives that provide food, clothing, and shelter support to families, children, seniors, homeless persons, and others who may need a hand. “What started nearly 30 years ago as a sweater recycling project to provide warm clothing to people in need has grown into one of SaskEnergy’s signature programs in communities across the province,” SaskEnergy’s Acting President and CEO Mark Guillet said....

Solar power is lightening our emissions from operations

After a full year of generating power, the large-scale solar installation at SaskEnergy’s Town Border Station (TBS) 1 in south Regina has proven to be a shining success! SaskEnergy’s first renewable electricity system began generating power in April 2023. In its first full year of operation, the TBS 1 solar panels performed even better than expected! “The system was sized according to that site’s annual power consumption, so we expected that the station’s net electrical usage would balance to zero,” says Trevor Ficor, an Engineer-in-Training with our Emissions Management team. But in our 2023...
