Variety of programs and services benefit SaskEnergy customers
Our First Nations Furnace Replacement Rebate program is just one of many ways SaskEnergy is helping our customers. This was one of several programs we introduced in 2023-24, which are highlighted in our annual report. Yellow Quill First Nation in east-central Saskatchewan is benefiting from this rebate program. New high-efficiency natural gas furnaces are being installed at more than 40 homes. This is helping residents reduce emissions and costs. “For years, the issue of furnaces needing replacement has been a concern for our community. This SaskEnergy rebate really helped,” says Darrell...

For more than a decade, they have been carrying on a tradition of supporting the local Salvation Army food bank. “It’s a team effort for a great cause,” says Mike Rossiter, General Manager of Operations in the Southwest Area. “In the fall, we put a call out to our Operations and Customer Service team members, and they come through every year.” In addition to employee donations, SaskEnergy provided a $200 grant to purchase items for the food bank. Building relationships and natural gas lines with the Peter Chapman Band
In many Indigenous cultures a pipe ceremony symbolizes unity, peace and a connection between the physical and spiritual worlds. Since early 2022, these ceremonies have become commonplace during SaskEnergy gas line construction projects. “A pipe ceremony is really about connection and prayer. For example, at SaskEnergy when we have these ceremonies as part of our construction projects, we’re asking for the safety of our personnel, we’re asking for a successful project and we’re also asking for forgiveness for disturbing the land, for disturbing Mother Earth,” explains Joseph Daniels, Director...

There is a lot of good that sharing a little warmth can do. In honour of the 30th anniversary of SaskEnergy’s Share the Warmth program, we launched Share the Warmth Days. Solar power is lightening our emissions from operations
After a full year of generating power, the large-scale solar installation at SaskEnergy’s Town Border Station (TBS) 1 in south Regina has proven to be a shining success! SaskEnergy’s first renewable electricity system began generating power in April 2023. In its first full year of operation, the TBS 1 solar panels performed even better than expected! “The system was sized according to that site’s annual power consumption, so we expected that the station’s net electrical usage would balance to zero,” says Trevor Ficor, an Engineer-in-Training with our Emissions Management team. But in our 2023...
