Importance of Southwest Sandhills highlighted during school tour

Students from the Grade 6 class at Leader Composite School had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the importance of preserving Saskatchewan’s Southwest Sandhills. Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) hosted a tour of the Sandhills Cave Pasture, which allowed the students to explore the area, discovering the many animals, insects and plants that call it home. The tour was made possible through SaskEnergy’s sponsorship of NCC, which also strives to engage youth and create understanding and awareness of this important environmental area. “We had a wonderful time out at Cave Pasture with the...

Soaked but strong: volunteers brave the rain to help clean up

Every year, the North Central Community Association organizes a clean-up to help get rid of garbage and large items in the inner-city neighbourhood before winter arrives. This year, the clean-up faced a new challenge — heavy rain, but that didn’t stop volunteers from showing up and doing their part. “The rain was constant during the clean-up, but things still went well,” says Misty-Lee Bird, a SaskEnergy employee who helped out along with her partner Jamey. “People in North Central don’t always have a way to get rid of big items, so even though we were soaked, it felt good to help.” Volunteers...

SaskEnergy is celebrating 25 years of being Saskatchewan’s Champion of Volunteers. With that, many of our employees are renewing their commitment to making an impact in the community. SaskEnergy employees, like First Responders, play a key role in keeping the public safe. In fact, we often work side by side First Responders in cases of potential natural gas emergencies. That mutual support extends to how we train and prepare for emergencies as well. “Building relationships, exchanging knowledge and training together ensures we can work together to safely manage emergencies, whether it’s a fire where a natural gas source is present, or an unplanned gas release,” says Peter MacLachlan – General Manager, of our Saskatoon Area Operations. Bringing joy to local communities

SaskEnergy employees recently showed how small acts of kindness can create big impacts in three Saskatchewan communities. Through initiatives in Moose Jaw, Weyburn and Regina, teams came together to support care homes and schools, bringing joy and connection to people who need it most. Coffee, Music, and Smiles In Weyburn, employees spent an afternoon at the Weyburn Special Care Home, creating a warm and lively atmosphere with music, snacks, and conversation. They hired a local musician and brought treats to share, turning the visit into a celebration of connection. “Spending time with the...
