Creating a Collaborative Story
SaskEnergy is committed to building meaningful, long-term relationships with Indigenous communities. As part of this commitment, we collaborated with Saskatoon- based Cree artist Tim Neal and consultant Tia Larocque to incorporate elements of Indigenous culture into our brand.
Throughout the past year, SaskEnergy consulted with Tim, Tia and other project participants to gain insights and understand connections between Indigenous culture and the service SaskEnergy provides to communities throughout Saskatchewan.
The result is a visual story that symbolizes the relationship with Indigenous communities and SaskEnergy’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
The new Indigenous branding incorporates the medicine wheel and honours the sacred elements of the natural world — fire, water, earth and air. The flame in SaskEnergy’s logo has been adapted to symbolize Indigenous culture while also reflecting the story of natural gas creation and consumption.
