Colourful canoes and kayaks, all lined up and ready to race, filled the south side of Wascana Lake at the end of August for the 2025 Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships. As the weather turns cold, our customers rely on natural gas to heat their homes and businesses. SaskEnergy plans year-round to provide Saskatchewan residents with the energy they need. One of the ways we meet the demand for energy is with storage caverns. Storage caverns are large underground cavities where we can safely store natural gas. Many people in Regina were a little warmer, happier and healthier this holiday season thanks to the generous support of SaskEnergy staff. “This is the time of year to reflect on what is really important in life and to highlight the importance of giving, especially to those who need it most,” says SaskEnergy employee Wendi Frederick. Saskatchewan’s continued growth is creating new demand for reliable energy — and we are expanding our system to keep pace! In 2025, we broke ground on a series of complex system expansion projects east of Saskatoon. This included two new high-pressure gas lines and an expanded facility at our Prud’homme compressor station. On a sunny day in June, a team of SaskEnergy employees met with an Indigenous Elder, consultants, and the Mayor of St. Louis, Saskatchewan. They wanted to begin a pipeline replacement project, occurring within village limits, with care and respect.
