SaskEnergy is proud to renew our commitment to support the conservation work of Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in the Southwest Sandhills of Saskatchewan. Families, volunteers and community organizations came together at ThriveFest 2026 to support programs that help local youth thrive. Hosted by Street Culture Project, ThriveFest raises funds and awareness for youth-focused programs in Regina. SaskEnergy and the Regina Airport Authority (RAA) are piloting the use of new technology in Saskatchewan — a CarbinX small-scale carbon capture device — to reduce emissions from the main heating system at the Regina International Airport (YQR) by about 20 per cent. Manufactured by Calgary-based company CleanO2, the CarbinX device is capturing a portion of the carbon dioxide emissions from the airport terminal’s boiler system, which would normally be vented, and converts it into non-toxic pearl ash (potassium carbonate). The Goals for KidSport program wrapped up another season with more than $20,000 raised to help ease financial barriers for youth involved in sports. The program is a three-way partnership between SaskEnergy and its Network Members, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and KidSport. During the program’s nine years, more than $230,000 has been raised! The SJHL is the program's sponsored partner and brings Goals for KidSport to 11 communities across the province. SaskEnergy is committed to protecting heritage and cultural sites in our day-to-day operations. With the help of a heritage screening tool, SaskEnergy has uncovered some of Saskatchewan’s history. The tool — which is GIS-based — is used before the start of our digging projects. It helps determine if a work site needs extra assessment or more resources. The screening tool was used for the 2021 upgrade of service lines in the Nutana neighbourhood in Saskatoon — one of the oldest areas of the city.
