Hundreds of volunteers stepped up to support more than 1,500 young athletes who competed in the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games, which were held in Flying Dust First Nation and the City of Meadow Lake from February 15–21. These volunteers played many important roles, including helping with logistics, competitions, ceremonies, and hospitality. Vegetation management may sound like a fancy way to describe mowing your lawn and pulling weeds. But, at SaskEnergy, it’s an important part of maintaining safety at our facilities across Saskatchewan! “Overgrown vegetation can create a safety issue if left unaddressed,” says Sheena Nabozniak, Manager of Damage Prevention. “It can impact the accessibility of our facilities. Students didn’t just learn about safety at the Cade Sprackman Safety Day in Regina — they experienced it firsthand. On May 27, more than 200 students from Campus Regina Public took part in a full day of hands-on activities designed to prepare them for real-life risks at work and in their communities. Every year, the North Central Community Association organizes a clean-up to help get rid of garbage and large items in the inner-city neighbourhood before winter arrives. This year, the clean-up faced a new challenge — heavy rain, but that didn’t stop volunteers from showing up and doing their part. “The rain was constant during the clean-up, but things still went well,” says Misty-Lee Bird, a SaskEnergy employee who helped out along with her partner Jamey. “People in North Central don’t always have a way to get rid of big items, so even though we were soaked, it felt good to help.” Volunteers...

As the weather turns cold, our customers rely on natural gas to heat their homes and businesses. SaskEnergy plans year-round to provide Saskatchewan residents with the energy they need. One of the ways we meet the demand for energy is with storage caverns. Storage caverns are large underground cavities where we can safely store natural gas. What started as a simple idea has quickly grown into a program making a real difference for students across Saskatchewan. Colourful canoes and kayaks, all lined up and ready to race, filled the south side of Wascana Lake at the end of August for the 2025 Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships. These championships drew more than 900 athletes from all over Canada to Regina. With so many athletes and races, it was all hands on deck to help the event run smoothly. In late November, Grade 3 students at St. Catherine School in Regina received a surprise that will shape their learning for years to come — a new mini classroom library. On June 6, residents, volunteers and community partners came together in Regina’s North Central neighbourhood to create a cleaner, safer place to call home.
