Every year, the North Central Community Association organizes a clean-up to help get rid of garbage and large items in the inner-city neighbourhood before winter arrives. This year, the clean-up faced a new challenge — heavy rain, but that didn’t stop volunteers from showing up and doing their part. “The rain was constant during the clean-up, but things still went well,” says Misty-Lee Bird, a SaskEnergy employee who helped out along with her partner Jamey. “People in North Central don’t always have a way to get rid of big items, so even though we were soaked, it felt good to help.” Volunteers...

‘The key message is safety’: SaskEnergy provides training to volunteer fire fighters

It’s important to SaskEnergy that when a volunteer fire department responds to an emergency that involves natural gas, they feel prepared and confident in keeping the situation safe. The latest round of training came at this spring’s SVFFA fire school in Melville, where firefighters were provided with information on how to respond to a natural gas-related emergency. Natural gas usage in Saskatchewan continues to break records

The return of extreme cold weather across Saskatchewan this week has again helped break the record for natural gas consumption in the province. Natural gas usage of an estimated 1.66 petajoules (PJ) on January 6, 2022 surpassed the previous daily record set on December 29, 2021. This marks the fifth time in the past two weeks that daily natural gas consumption in Saskatchewan has approached or exceeded 1.6 PJ.
