SaskEnergy sets new daily gas consumption record twice in one week

Daily natural gas consumption in the province has again surpassed the previous usage record. Daily gas consumption numbers are tracked over a 24-hour period from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. – a new record of 1.59 petajoules (PJ) was set today. The previous record of 1.57 PJ was set early this week on February 9 th. Using storage caverns to serve our customers

As the weather turns cold, our customers rely on natural gas to heat their homes and businesses. SaskEnergy plans year-round to provide Saskatchewan residents with the energy they need. One of the ways we meet the demand for energy is with storage caverns. Storage caverns are large underground cavities where we can safely store natural gas.
