SaskEnergy is proud to renew our commitment to support the conservation work of Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in the Southwest Sandhills of Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan’s continued growth is creating new demand for reliable energy — and we are expanding our system to keep pace! In 2025, we broke ground on a series of complex system expansion projects east of Saskatoon. This included two new high-pressure gas lines and an expanded facility at our Prud’homme compressor station. At the end of July, 12 co-op and summer students from SaskEnergy spent two days volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Regina. For Samarth Soni, a co-op student in our Enterprise Networks team, it was his first time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. There is a lot of good that sharing a little warmth can do. In honour of the 30th anniversary of SaskEnergy’s Share the Warmth program, we launched Share the Warmth Days. Students from the Grade 6 class at Leader Composite School had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the importance of preserving Saskatchewan’s Southwest Sandhills. What started as a simple idea has quickly grown into a program making a real difference for students across Saskatchewan. For weeks, Ross Carolan and his family felt sick but didn’t know why. Ross, his wife and their two young children were all feeling lethargic and coughing. Even their cat was irritable instead of her usual friendly self. This was in fall 2022. In what seemed like an unrelated issue at the time, the humidifier on Ross’s furnace had been leaking water, so he contacted a plumbing and heating company. This call may have saved their lives.
