SaskEnergy applies for lowest Commodity Rate in 19 years; residential customers to see annual savings of over $80
SaskEnergy today announced it has applied to the Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel to lower its Commodity Rate from $3.65/Gigajoule (GJ) to $2.65/GJ, effective April 1 st, 2019. SaskEnergy is also asking the Panel to approve a 3.7% Delivery Service Rate increase for April 1 st, 2019. Preparing for a Flood If you suspect any natural gas appliances might become submerged from flood water or sewer back-up, consider following these steps: Hire a licensed gas contractor to ‘shut off’ the gas at the supply valve to natural gas appliances that may be affected. Relocate appliances to a dry location by raising them above potential water levels, to upper floors or other suitable storage areas. The Commodity Rate in dollars per cubic metre ($/m 3) may be converted to a rate in dollars per gigajoule ($/GJ) by dividing it by SaskEnergy's forecast heating value of 0.03950 GJ/m 3.

Average $4.30/month increase for homeowners for 2016 SaskPower and SaskEnergy will be applying to the Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel (SRRP) in two separate applications to adjust their rates.
