Many people in Regina were a little warmer, happier and healthier this holiday season thanks to the generous support of SaskEnergy staff. “This is the time of year to reflect on what is really important in life and to highlight the importance of giving, especially to those who need it most,” says SaskEnergy employee Wendi Frederick. In early December, Wendi led a campaign to build feminine hygiene kits to donate to various organizations in Regina and quickly found support from her coworkers. SaskEnergy has been Saskatchewan's Champion of Volunteers for nearly 25 years. Now, we are saddling up with Canadian Western Agribition as volunteer sponsor for the 2024 event. This year’s Agribition, which takes place from November 25-30 in Regina, will need the help of more than 350 volunteers. Roles include student safety, information booths, driving, hospitality and more. SaskEnergy offers a wide range of careers, including many in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). To encourage Indigenous students to consider careers in STEM, SaskEnergy employees are presenting lunch and learn sessions in First Nation schools across the province. “The goal of the program is to have young people get excited and engaged with STEM careers,” says Joseph Daniels, SaskEnergy’s Director of Indigenous Engagement. SaskEnergy is proud to renew our commitment to support the conservation work of Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in the Southwest Sandhills of Saskatchewan.
