SaskEnergy has been Saskatchewan's Champion of Volunteers for nearly 25 years. Now, we are saddling up with Canadian Western Agribition as volunteer sponsor for the 2024 event. This year’s Agribition, which takes place from November 25-30 in Regina, will need the help of more than 350 volunteers. First Nations artists Tim Neal and Jade Roberts have shared their talent and expertise with SaskEnergy through two recent projects. Their artwork will appear across Saskatchewan on SaskEnergy billboards, advertisements, social media and at events. We are proud to showcase their work while we connect with Indigenous communities. For weeks, Ross Carolan and his family felt sick but didn’t know why. Ross, his wife and their two young children were all feeling lethargic and coughing. Even their cat was irritable instead of her usual friendly self. This was in fall 2022. In what seemed like an unrelated issue at the time, the humidifier on Ross’s furnace had been leaking water, so he contacted a plumbing and heating company. This call may have saved their lives. Every day, the Regina Food Bank helps about 500 families — and that number keeps growing. During the holiday season, the need is even greater, making extra help from volunteers essential. This holiday season, SaskEnergy employees helped bring joy to classrooms across Saskatchewan through our annual Santa Store initiative. Each year, WorkSafe Saskatchewan recognizes individuals and organizations for the Safe Worker and Safe Employer Awards who are nominated by their workplace peers and colleagues.
