Sustainability is at the core of what we do at SaskEnergy, and we were honoured to receive three Environmental Stewardship Awards from the Canadian Gas Association (CGA) in recognition of our efforts. Attending a sweat lodge for the first time can be a powerful experience. Just ask Kendra Lovas, an employee at SaskEnergy in Regina. “At first, it was hot and dark, my heart was beating fast, and I felt like my skin was burning,” says Kendra. “After the first break, I wasn’t sure if I would go back in, but I told myself that I needed to give it a chance, and I’m glad I did. Ashley Baer held back tears while wrapping a gift for a child at the Connaught Elementary School Santa Store in North Battleford. “She told me last year they never got any presents,” says Ashley, a SaskEnergy employee in North Battleford. “She told me she was happy her brother would get a gift this year even if she doesn’t. Hundreds of volunteers stepped up to support more than 1,500 young athletes who competed in the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games, which were held in Flying Dust First Nation and the City of Meadow Lake from February 15–21. These volunteers played many important roles, including helping with logistics, competitions, ceremonies, and hospitality. Their hard work ensured a positive experience for athletes, families, and spectators. Their dedication reflected both the spirit of the Games and the spirit of Saskatchewan. What started as a simple idea has quickly grown into a program making a real difference for students across Saskatchewan. Colourful canoes and kayaks, all lined up and ready to race, filled the south side of Wascana Lake at the end of August for the 2025 Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships. These championships drew more than 900 athletes from all over Canada to Regina. With so many athletes and races, it was all hands on deck to help the event run smoothly.
