SaskEnergy is proud to renew our commitment to support the conservation work of Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in the Southwest Sandhills of Saskatchewan. Students got the answers to these questions and more as part of Cade Sprackman Safety Day events that took place in Tisdale and Melville during May. In early 2023, SaskEnergy’s first net-metering solar installation at Town Border Station (TBS) 1 in southwest Regina began generating electricity from the 176 solar panels installed on site. Students from the Grade 6 class at Leader Composite School had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the importance of preserving Saskatchewan’s Southwest Sandhills. The Goals for KidSport program wrapped up another season with more than $20,000 raised to help ease financial barriers for youth involved in sports. The program is a three-way partnership between SaskEnergy and its Network Members, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and KidSport. During the program’s nine years, more than $230,000 has been raised! The SJHL is the program's sponsored partner and brings Goals for KidSport to 11 communities across the province. The gymnasium at St. Michael Community School in Regina was recently transformed into a wonderland of holiday gifts, with support from SaskEnergy employees who volunteered and fundraised.
