Our system is 99.99 reliable — here’s how

When you turn up your thermostat or fire up your gas stove to cook supper, you might wonder about the energy source behind these simple tasks. SaskEnergy’s natural gas system spans across Saskatchewan. We serve about 411,000 customers through more than 72,000 kilometres of distribution gas lines. We work hard to maintain a system that’s more than 99.99 per cent reliable. That means you can count on us year-round, whether for heating your home during the coldest of winter days or heating your pool during those beautiful summer nights! Volunteers help make Canoe Kayak Nationals a success in Regina

Colourful canoes and kayaks, all lined up and ready to race, filled the south side of Wascana Lake at the end of August for the 2025 Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships. These championships drew more than 900 athletes from all over Canada to Regina. With so many athletes and races, it was all hands on deck to help the event run smoothly. That’s where more than 200 volunteers came in. “This event definitely could not happen without volunteers,” says Nathan Wilson, a member of the host organizing committee. “There can be up to 17 boats on the water at once, so we need people to help...

‘The key message is safety’: SaskEnergy provides training to volunteer fire fighters

It’s important to SaskEnergy that when a volunteer fire department responds to an emergency that involves natural gas, they feel prepared and confident in keeping the situation safe. That’s why, for two decades, SaskEnergy has supported the Saskatchewan Volunteer Fire Fighters Association (SVFFA) by providing training and sponsorship support. The latest round of training came at this spring’s SVFFA fire school in Melville, where firefighters were provided with information on how to respond to a natural gas-related emergency. Attending the fire school to provide the training were SaskEnergy...

Members of SaskEnergy’s Operations team attended the events and had a station set up as part of an “Amazing Safety Quest.” The quest taught students about safety in a variety of industries in the province, so they are prepared before starting their careers.
