Gas Retailers

Buying from a third-party supplier Gas Retailers are independent suppliers and are not affiliated with/or endorsed by SaskEnergy. In Saskatchewan, you have the option to buy natural gas from an authorized Gas Retailer if your annual consumption is less than 660,000 m 3. Similar to any purchase decision, it’s important to educate yourself on whether you are dealing with a reputable company and to understand the contract you are signing. SaskEnergy can’t provide advice, recommendations, or guarantees related to a supply contract, credit worthiness, or business practices of a Gas Retailer...

Construction Meets Conservation: Bird-Friendly Expansion at Prud’homme

For years, SaskEnergy's Prud’homme Compressor Station has been more than a hub for energy — it’s been a hidden sanctuary for nesting birds. “We've been managing nesting birds at the station for more than 10 years. There are several wetlands near the facility and the area provides excellent nesting habitat for migratory bird species,” says Ashley Syrgiannis, SaskEnergy's Manager of Environmental Assessment. “So, before our Prud’homme Expansion Project began, we approached our Operations team to see if they would be interested in some habitat enhancements.” As part of the Prud’homme Expansion...

Helping Hands: Summer Students Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity ReStore

At the end of July, 12 co-op and summer students from SaskEnergy spent two days volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Regina. For Samarth Soni, a co-op student in our Enterprise Networks team, it was his first time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. He said the experience was more than just helping out for a few hours. “It quickly became something much more meaningful,” Samarth said. “It was eye-opening to see how even small tasks can make a big difference when people work together.” The students came together from different departments throughout the company to help sort...

Our Emissions Management team's loss is everyone’s gain

As SaskEnergy works toward the goal of reducing emissions by 35 per cent by 2030, our Emissions Management team is leading the charge. A small but mighty team of four employees, all of their work hinges on SaskEnergy’s environmental regulatory compliance requirements and voluntary commitments related to emissions reduction. This team is also responsible for capital projects connected to SaskEnergy’s Roadmap to 35 per cent by 2030, and provides project support for emissions requirements at new or upgraded facilities. Rekindling long-ago customer connection a career highlight for employee

A quarter century ago, our construction crews were a main attraction for children spending their summers at Kenosee Provincial Park. SaskEnergy employees worked for several summers to extend gas service to cabins in the area in the late 1990s. “Some kids, you couldn’t get rid of them. They’re pointing and looking; the parents want to go, but the kids want to stay and see us work,” says Dale Staudt, a Crew Lead with our southern Saskatchewan Construction team. “We would stop and explain what we were doing and show them. First Nations Safety Signs Earn National Recognition

At SaskEnergy, safety is a shared responsibility — it’s shared by our employees and customers, and by the people of Saskatchewan, who live and work near our infrastructure. This shared responsibility helped inspire SaskEnergy’s First Nations safety signs project, which created new natural gas safety signs featuring Indigenous artwork to be used on First Nations across Saskatchewan. Tipi-raising competition delivers lessons about work and life

Raising a tipi is about more than building a shelter. This was one of many lessons learned by teams in the Glen Anaquod Tipi Raising Competition. Four teams from SaskEnergy joined others from the community at the University of Regina in late September to take part in the annual event. The event was started in 2008 by Glen Anaquod, an Elder from Muscowpetung First Nation, to bring cultures together and share teachings in a kind and loving way. “It is a competition.
