Infrastructure Investment and Record Demand Lead to Successful 2019-20 for SaskEnergy

In 2019-20, demand from SaskEnergy’s industrial transmission customers increased for the fifth straight year and contributed to the Corporation’s highest-ever level of transportation and storage revenue. Investigation into pipeline rupture indicates previously unreported damage

SaskEnergy has received the initial results from its investigation into the January 10 th, 2018 pipeline rupture in the Melfort area. Line locates in Saskatchewan now valid for 30 days

Effective January 1, 2023, line locates in Saskatchewan are valid for 30 calendar days, up from 10 business days. A line locate involves the use of flags, stakes or paint to mark the location of buried utility lines. Line locates are available free of charge to help you plan safe digging activities. Having a longer expiry period provides more flexibility when planning projects and aligns Saskatchewan with other provinces and jurisdictions that already use a 30-day window for line locates. Lowest SaskEnergy Commodity Rates in 20 Years Approved by Government; Savings Eliminated by Federal Carbon Tax

The Government of Saskatchewan has approved changes recommended by the Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel to SaskEnergy’s Commodity and Delivery Service Rates. SaskEnergy’s Commodity Rate will be lowered from $3.65/Gigajoule(GJ) to $2.575/GJ, the lowest rate in 20 years, and the Delivery Service Rate will increase by 3.4 per cent to provide additional funding for safety and infrastructure investments.
