The gift of giving: SaskEnergy glad to support school Santa Stores
Ashley Baer held back tears while wrapping a gift for a child at the Connaught Elementary School Santa Store in North Battleford. “She told me last year they never got any presents,” says Ashley, a SaskEnergy employee in North Battleford. “She told me she was happy her brother would get a gift this year even if she doesn’t. This confirmed that what we’re doing is meaningful and that we need to continue volunteering and donating.” Santa Stores are held in community schools across Saskatchewan, so students can shop for affordable gifts for their loved ones during the holidays. ‘The Key Message is Safety’: SaskEnergy Provides Training to Volunteer Fire Fighters
It’s important to SaskEnergy that when a volunteer fire department responds to an emergency that involves natural gas, they feel prepared and confident in keeping the situation safe. That’s why, for two decades, SaskEnergy has supported the Saskatchewan Volunteer Fire Fighters Association (SVFFA) by providing training and sponsorship support. The latest round of training came at this spring’s SVFFA fire school in Melville, where firefighters were provided with information on how to respond to a natural gas-related emergency. Attending the fire school to provide the training were SaskEnergy...

Top three winter safety tips from SaskEnergy
Winter has been packing a punch this year, leaving many of us with snow on the roof while we listen to the rumble of our furnaces. In keeping with the season, here are three of SaskEnergy’s top natural gas safety tips to help keep you and your family safe this winter. 1. Using storage caverns to serve our customers
As the weather turns cold, our customers rely on natural gas to heat their homes and businesses. SaskEnergy plans year-round to provide Saskatchewan residents with the energy they need. One of the ways we meet the demand for energy is with storage caverns. Storage caverns are large underground cavities where we can safely store natural gas. A storage cavern has an average size of about 40 to 50 Olympic-sized swimming pools and are about one kilometre below the ground. “A storage cavern is the greatest thing for the storage of energy,” says Derek Leach, Director of SaskEnergy’s System Control...

New high-efficiency natural gas furnaces are being installed at more than 40 homes. This SaskEnergy rebate really helped,” says Darrell...
