SaskEnergy is proud to renew our commitment to support the conservation work of Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in the Southwest Sandhills of Saskatchewan. In early 2023, SaskEnergy’s first net-metering solar installation at Town Border Station (TBS) 1 in southwest Regina began generating electricity from the 176 solar panels installed on site. A quarter century ago, our construction crews were a main attraction for children spending their summers at Kenosee Provincial Park. SaskEnergy employees worked for several summers to extend gas service to cabins in the area in the late 1990s. “Some kids, you couldn’t get rid of them. A recent blanket exercise at our Regina Service Centre hit close to home for SaskEnergy Operations employee Todd Sanderson. The Goals for KidSport program wrapped up another season with more than $20,000 raised to help ease financial barriers for youth involved in sports. The program is a three-way partnership between SaskEnergy and its Network Members, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and KidSport. During the program’s nine years, more than $230,000 has been raised! The SJHL is the program's sponsored partner and brings Goals for KidSport to 11 communities across the province. The gymnasium at St. Michael Community School in Regina was recently transformed into a wonderland of holiday gifts, with support from SaskEnergy employees who volunteered and fundraised.
